Physical Education
The P.E. department offers two different options focused on developing physical fitness and motor skills from 6th through 8th grade.

Sport (Skills) Based Physical Education (Current standard program) |
Health and Movement Concept standards are intertwined with our sport units to ensure the students are physically and emotionally healthy. These courses approach Physical Education with an emphasis on the development and competence of specific motor skills in a variety of sport-related physical activities. Students will engage in the activities, while acquiring a greater understanding of the movement concepts needed and required for success in those activities. |

6th Grade P.E. |
6th graders have P.E. every other day. During the year the student will participate in tumbling, swimming,basketball, soccer, line dancing and much more. |

7th Grade P.E. |
7th graders learn new and more advanced skills in soccer, basketball, track and field. They also get to experience new sports such as ultimate frisbee, volleyball, table tennis and swing dance. |

8th Grade P.E. |
8th graders get to refine their skills in sports such as soccer and volleyball that they have had for multiple years now. New sports to 8th grade include water polo, flag football, badminton and handball to name a few. |

Fitness Based Physical Education 7-8 Grade (New Course) |
This is an approach to Physical Education that meets all of the Physical Education standards and emphasizes the science and purpose of fitness / health on the individual development of the student. Students will engage in various health and fitness activities, while acquiring a greater understanding of the what, why and how of exercise and physical activity on the development of their individual health and physical literacy. |
